Breed specific training

Program Overview    

  • Your dog may benefit from being worked in a rural environment rather than on an agility/residential based course​
  • Breed specific obedience training, working on a specialised level of training in regards to recall and retrieve. Active Canine isn't involved or associated with any hunting activities. However, we recognize that certain breeds will benefit best from mental and physical stimulation best suited to their bloodlines and natural instincts.
  • This course will give you and your dog the foundations to enjoy a happy and healthy life together by providing bespoke breed specific field simulation training

  • Only suitable for certain breeds (Gun Dog breeds or breeds with sufficient drive), HPR (Hunters, Pointers & Retrievers), Spaniels, Labradors

Different breeds will chive different course outcomes

  • Bloodlines will determine level of result

  • Dogs must to be calm not aggressive or anxious

  • The age required can greatly differ from breed to breed as well as dog to dog.

Course inclusions & Outcomes

  • Obedience to a high level

  • Sit with voice & whistle

  • Recall with whistle

  • Extended sit at distance

  • Working from distance without owner

  • Retrieve simulated faux fur and feather

  • No barking, whinging or noise on retrieve

  • Holding and working an area continuously

  • Forward movement in patterns, turning on voice & whistle

  • Seen & hidden retrieves

  • Retrieving from distance in a straight line
