House protection program
Program Overview
-
Continuing to act as a family pet, our course will develop the fiercely loyal nature of a dog that exhibits a high level of control, giving you the peace of mind that your family and household will be protected at all times.
-
Not a weapon, your dog will protect and preserve private property, acting as a security alarm
-
A dog that is always alert but understands the countries of its behavior inside and outside your home
-
(home purpose only, not a Security or Guard dog)
Course timeframe & Pricing
Enrollment requirements
-
Only suitable for certain breeds - even within these breeds not every dog is the same
or capable of doing protection/bite work
-
6 weeks comprise of 2-week basic obedience training where your dog will be assessed for suitability
-
Generally, the most used breeds are German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois,
Rottweiler, Doberman, (American Bully?) (Akita?)
-
Typically the 4-week protection side of the course will need to be at 8-12 months.
-
However, the minimum age can differ greatly based on breed & character - our suggestion is to book the dog in for a Basic Obedience course and the trainer will evaluate suitability (NOTE: must have adult teeth for protection work)
-
Course can be split e.g. first 2 weeks at 3 months old, final 4 weeks at 8 months
-
No anxious dogs
